Pomegranates by Chanan Mazal

Pomegranates by Chanan Mazal

My introverted nature would prefer anonymity and my adventurous side would amuse myself immensely by assuming a pseudo-mysterious, online ghostwriter persona.  However, since this space is about living authentically in Christ, let me introduce myself for those of you I haven’t had the honour to meet.

Welcome!  I am Nicole and I really wish we were chatting in person together.

I take joy in one-on-one, deep & meaningful conversations with my friends.  We laugh, sharing our lives over a cup of white tea and warm banana bread (with large chunks of chocolate, of course) on the back deck overlooking our tiny pond.

Our garden is the perfect place to connect, but it's also my source of tranquility and solitude.  You will find me there, early in the morning where I study and pray as the birds rehearse their latest choral repertoire in the trees above.  It is not quite as picturesque as Snow White, mind you, especially when I have to clean up the bird poop from my winged friends before I can even sit down and focus to meditate!  (Sorry, I digress!)  That aside, it still remains one of my favourite places to curl up with a blanket, a book, and a journal by my side, as I linger with God and His beauty all around me.

If there was such a thing as a Presbyterian contemplative female version of a monk ... that would probably be the ideal fit for me in this world!

My husband is the slightly less introverted of the two of us.  He turns the garden from my zen-like, meditational space to the gathering place in the evenings as it fills with music, lights, the baseball game on the TV, pretzels & mustard and lots of friends who are dear to our heart.

I have the honour of working alongside my husband in worship ministry.
Kenneth is an incredibly humble, yet gifted worship leader, teacher, artist, writer, and musician (and yes, I realize I am completely biased).   He is the Worship Director and I am the Choir Director and Pianist in our local church.  It is sheer joy to plan worship and serve together.  I also manage a non-profit community and employment support service for adults with a disability.

My greatest passion, though, is learning to live fully in Christ.  I want to be intentionally awake to His Presence in the chaos of life and I also love encouraging others to see Christ in the midst of the ordinary.

Now that you know a little about me, I would love to hear from you and get to know you better.  I invite you to join me on this camino to cultivate the seeds that nourish our own interior castle in order to live everyday overflowing with the fullness of Christ!
